What You Can Do!
All too often active participants are segregated
as the 'radicals' of an organisation. Unfortunately, in the
public eye this has been compounded by those that use eco-terrorism in
their pursuits.
An example of the activities that you could be involved in are:
What can YOU do to help turn the tide? Communicate your feelings, give your opinion and ask some exacting questions concerning the issue at hand.
No matter how you actually feel, be polite. Abusing the recipient is counter productive. You can be personal or professional in your approach. Add in postscripts such as: 'I look forward to your reply'. Sign your full name. Build in a question that requires answering, one that demands a prompt response. Don't just state the facts and leave it at that. Write to each of the people on your list for a particular topic, and state on each that you have written to the others by adding 'copied to ...' at the bottom. Your letter is likely to invoke a more serious response. In your corresponance invite a meeting with relevent department heads. Be prepared with relevent research material when you attend the meetings. Speak concisely about the effects of their actions.
Always try and research alternatives that wont affect their financial status. Most businesses will not partake in activities that will cause them to lose money. Would you? Show that you are willing to help in any research into these alternatives. Make yourself available as a consultant if you carry expertise in this area.

- Say NO! to suspect goods. Economic sanctions really are effective. Check everything you buy. Demand to know where those goods come from. Do your research on merchandise ... don't just impulsively buy. Where there is no label, ask your supermarket or store where their stocks came from, don't buy if they can't (or will not) tell you, then tell them why you will not buy it!
- Spread the word! Inform your friends, relatives, colleagues and local media about the truth behind any products you find are detrimental to our environment or it's inhabitants.
- Write a short, clear and well argued letter containing the facts. State your reasons for concern.

CAMPAIGNS
Effective campaigns and protest rallies are always
a good opportunity to rally support from those that would not normally
be aware of a problem. However, this can only be achieved if they
are carried out in a peaceful and informative manner. Don't just
storm the stockade ... talk to passer-by's, spectators and the
media. Inform them of the 'facts' and discuss with them the
repercussions that affect their planet and their quality of living.
